Dr. Ibrahim Assane Mayaki, a national of the Republic of Niger, currently holds the esteemed position of Special Envoy for Food Systems at the African Union and Chair of the Zero Hunger Coalition. In his previous role as the Chief Executive Officer of NEPAD/AUDA, Dr. Mayaki played a pivotal role in advancing the socio-economic development agenda across the continent. Prior to his tenure at NEPAD/AUDA, he served as the Prime Minister of Niger from 1997 to 2000 and between 1996 and 1997 he was successively appointed Minister in charge of the African Integration and Cooperation and Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Dr. Mayaki worked as Professor of Public Administration in both Niger and Venezuela. His intellectual contributions have extended to policy analysis, reflecting a dedication to shaping future leaders. He holds a Masters degree from the National School of Public Administration (Enap), Quebec, Canada and a PhD in Administrative Sciences from the University of Paris, France.
