Special Issue: Can innovation address Africa’s challenges?

As the second Special Issue linked to the Africa Innovation Summit (AIS), this edition continues to build the argument for the important role of innovation systems (or ‘learning, innovation and competence-building’ (LICS)). in Africa’s socio-economic transformation (Adesida and Karuri-Sebina 2013). The articles in this Special Issue tackle, through various angles, the significance of diverse and effective innovation systems and ecosystems, and why they are essential to creating the conditions necessary for innovation-driven development.
